A few days ago I posted some quotes from Gulliver’s Travels. In looking up those quotes I came across another:
“The tiny Lilliputians surmise that Gulliver's watch may be his god, because it is that which, he admits, he seldom does anything without consulting.”

It occurred to me that if one substitutes the word “smartphone” for “watch”, that would be accurate for today as well.
